How To Become More Productive As An Entrepreneur
Being productive is not necessarily about doing more but is about getting more tasks done that create good progress in a timely way.
The best way to be productive is to achieve high priority tasks that create the most progress.
Here, I present nine simple ways to become more productive.
1. Start Early
Starting early in the morning, when the brain is at its best, is one of the best ways to progress. This is the time to perform the most important and possibly the biggest tasks.
2. Set And Work On Good Goals
One of the best ways to become more productive is to set and achieve good goals for the development of your business. Then, the goals can drive you when things gets tough.
3. Adopt Good Habits And Ditch The Bad Habits
Much of what we do, day by day, is based on habits and routines and, by adopting good habits and ditching or reducing the bad habits, it should be possible to make better use of your time. One good habit could be locking your ‘phone away in another room, while you work on a complicated task.
4. Adopt Strong Self-Discipline
Adopting strong self-discipline such as doing tasks when they need to be done and removing distractions can be a good way to become productive.
5. Always Plan Well
Planning everything well and breaking important tasks down into small steps and planning each step well is a good way to become more productive. The creation and achievement of small ‘action plans’ for each of your main goals should see your productivity grow.
6. Be Well Organised
Being well organised and creating good systems that work to optimise your efficiency and your effectiveness is a must if you are to make the best use of your time.
7. Manage Your Time Well
Using time well and planning your day well, through using a ‘day planner’ and a ‘to-do list’, for example, is a good way to become more productive.
8. Do Just One Task At A Time
Doing just one task at a time and not multi-tasking will speed your performance and reduce your stress levels. Flipping from one task to another is very inefficient.
9. Use ‘The 5 Minute Rule’
Using the ‘5 Minute Rule’ for small tasks can be a good way to boost your productivity. If something takes just 5 minutes to perform, it is often best to do it immediately, to get it out the way. Performing two or three of these quickly can boost your motivation and your feeling of achievement.
These are highly effective and proven ways to become more productive.
If, overtime, you can acquire some or all of these, and you use them as a good habit, you should see that your productivity will become enhanced.
It is important also to ensure that your colleagues and your team are asked to acquire these too, then your whole business should become more productive.
Best of luck,
